Lakes Home Care

“I believe that beauty and happiness can be found in all stages of life. I have spent years taking people on outings and trips, having great conversations with individuals, offering support and companionship.

Everyone is different, whether looking for an adventure, afternoon tea with a beautiful view of the Lakes, someone to talk to. I believe that care is more than just support with basic needs and our ethos “a day filled with joy” was formed.

Since working in this fields as a young adult, seeing the joy that care can bring has given me a strong sense of purpose and a belief that a difference can be made.

This belief forms the heart and foundation of Lakes Home Care.”

Jane Allan, Director

“The year that I worked for Lakes Home Care was incredibly lovely and special. No only because I could do one of the things I like the most (helping people) and I learned a lot, but also because I was so lucky to be part of this amazing team. The values of this company, the care it’s showed every day and the commitment that every single person has, it makes the difference. Lakes Home Care is not only a care company, it is a safe space for every one who is part of it. Thank you Jane and Molly for trusting me, taking care of me and supporting me from the very first day.”

I have worked in the care sector since 2019 and I have really found my calling when it comes to providing high quality person-centred care to service users in their own homes. I have a depth of

experience including mental health, dementia care, complex care and brain injury support. I am also currently studying for my Level 5 in Healthcare Leadership and management at

Kendal college to expand my skills and my knowledge to ensure we are always providing the best support to our service users.

I started out as a domiciliary care assistant in 2019 and have worked as a senior carer, care coordinator and then became a registered manager in 2023.

I really believe that
being able to support people to live independently
is more than just a job it is a privilege.

Carer

I was born and raised in the Lakes, which ignited my passion for walking and being in nature. I love finding community and creativity in the outdoors. Through camping, cooking and travelling the world, I have been lucky enough to connect with people from all walks of life and share experiences with them. Initially working in childcare as a nanny, my work caring for adults with Lakes Home Care is an exciting new chapter, and so far has been the most beautiful and enriching experience. Being able to support and encourage clients with their independence, including hobbies and lifestyle choices has been a really lovely way to continue making memories with them. I have experience supporting people with a variety of needs including: Dementia, Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health, Autism and more.
